A common early warning sign of pre-diabetes.

Insulin resistance can start years before it shows up in a blood test and it's more common than most people realise, especially after 40. The quiz takes 2 minutes and gives you a clearer picture of what might be going on.

Common questions

A few things worth knowing.

What is insulin resistance?

+

Insulin is the hormone that helps your cells use glucose for energy. When your cells stop responding to it properly, your body produces more and more insulin to compensate - until that stops working too. The result is rising blood sugar, low energy, weight that won't shift, and cravings. Often for years before anything shows up on a standard test.

How do I know if these symptoms are related to insulin resistance?

+

That's exactly what the quiz is designed to help with. It looks at how your body responds to food, energy, sleep, and cravings - the patterns that standard blood tests don't always pick up. Your results will give you a clearer picture of whether insulin resistance could be a factor.

My blood tests came back normal - could these symptoms still be related?

+

Yes - and this is more common than most people realise. Standard blood tests often measure fasting glucose or HbA1c, which can appear normal in the early stages. A fasting insulin test is more sensitive, but it's rarely ordered routinely. Early insulin resistance can be present for years before it shows in a standard panel.

Is insulin resistance the same as pre-diabetes?

+

Not exactly, but they're closely linked. Insulin resistance is often the underlying condition that, if left unaddressed, progresses to pre-diabetes and eventually type 2 diabetes. Catching and addressing insulin resistance early is one of the most effective ways to prevent that progression.

Can these symptoms be stopped or reversed?

+

In most cases, yes - especially when caught early. Insulin resistance responds well to changes in nutrition, movement, stress management, and in some cases medication. The key is having a clear picture of what's going on and a plan that's realistic for your life. That's exactly what we help with.
