Betadine Sore Throat Gargle is a concentrated anti‐bacterial and anti-viral formula used as an aid in the treatment of sore throats. This gargle must be diluted before use; a convenient measure is included in the pack.

MUST BE DILUTED BEFORE USE.

Dilute 1ml of Betadine solution to 20ml with water using the measure provided and gargle for 30 seconds, then spit out. DO NOT SWALLOW.

Store below 25C.

Povidone-iodine 7.5% w/v equivalent to 0.75% w/v available iodine.

Not to be used in known hypersensitivity to iodine or povidone. If irritation, redness or swelling develops, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Povidone-Iodine preparations should not be applied over a long period and to large areas of the skin (e.g., not to more than 10% of the total body surface and for not longer than 14 days) unless strictly indicated.

Good for killing viruses and bacteria but offer little symptom relief.Best to use during the early stage of a cold
Avoid crunchy or spicy food with severe sore throat
Increase water and fluid intake to offset dehydration

When to see the doctor (possible strep):
1. High Fever
2.Swollen glands
3.White speks on tonsils
4.Maori or Pacific
5.Family history of rheumatic fever
