For predictable relief of constipation
Adults and children over 10 years of age can take 1 to 2 tablets in a single daily dose. It is suggested to take the tablets within 30 to 60 minutes before your normal bedtime to produce a bowel movement the next morning. Children 6-10 years can take one tablet at night. Children under 6 years are not recommended to use Dulcolax Tablets. Please refer to the Dulcolax Tablets dosage information on the carton or enclosed leaflet for advice on taking Dulcolax Tablets. Seek medical advice for use in children.
Active ingredient (in each tablet): Bisacodyl 5mg
Do not take Dulcolax if you are allergic to:
any medicine containing bisacodyl
any of the ingredients listed at the end of this leaflet.
Do not take Dulcolax if you have or have had, any of the following conditions:
acute abdominal conditions including appendicitis
acute inflammatory bowel disease
severe abdominal pain associated with nausea and vomiting
blockage in the bowel (ileus)
a blockage in the intestine
severe dehydration
galactose intolerance
fructose intolerance.
If you are uncertain as to whether you have, or have had, any of these conditions, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not give this medicine to a child under the age of 6 years.
Dulcolax should only be used in children over the age of 6 years on medical advice.
Do not take this medicine after the expiry date printed on the pack or if the packaging is torn or shows signs of tampering.
If it has expired or is damaged, return it to your pharmacist for disposal.
If you are not sure whether you should start taking this medicine, talk to your doctor.
Stimulant laxatives take 8 hours to work. Best to take at night so you can go in morning. Not to use long term as it can make your bowels “lazy”. Best laxative if you are taking opioids
