Hirudoid Cream is a topical medication containing 3 mg/g of heparinoid (mucopolysaccharide polysulfuric acid ester), a substance similar to heparin. It is used to treat superficial thrombophlebitis (inflammation of veins), bruises (hematomas), and to soften hard scars.
Clean and dry the affected area.
Apply a 3 to 5 cm ribbon of Hirudoid Cream to the area once or twice a day.
Gently massage the cream into the skin until absorbed.
For extensive or painful areas, apply the cream cautiously and cover with a dressing soaked with the cream.
For hard scars, massage the cream in firmly.
