Nit-Enz Organic Shampoo 250ml is created from a combination of pine extracts, water and citronella. Nit-Enz shampoo is completely non-toxic, the turpinols in the pine extracts effect head lice and their eggs on contact. If the shampoo is not touching them it will not effect them, so thorough coverage of the scalp is imperative.

1. Wet hair and pull back away from the face.
2. Completely cover the scalp and hair shafts with Nit-Enz.
3. Cover hair with a shower cap and leave in for 20 minutes.
4. Run a nit comb through the hair from scalp to hair tips while over basin. Rinse comb between strokes.
5. Rinse shampoo out and condition as normal. Section hair while still wet and comb thoroughly with a fine tooth comb. Wipe head lice and nit eggs pulled out on the nit comb onto a tissue and nit comb until no more are found.

Pine extracts and citronella

Apply a test patch of shampoo on the back of the neck and leave for 5 minutes. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
Take care to avoid contact with the eyes. If contact occurs rinse thoroughly with water.

Children don’t need to be kept from attending school but inform the school so close contacts can be checked for lice
Prevention:
Hair should be kept short or ties back/plaited if long
Don’t share hats and combs
Regular brushing as lice can be damaged from this
Drops of tea-tree or lavender oil used to condition or on hair hairbrush may deter lice from settling on hair
