The PRIMA Menopause Test is a rapid home diagnostic test designed to help detect whether a woman may be approaching or has entered menopause, based on hormone levels in urine.
The test uses lateral flow immunoassay technology, similar to a pregnancy test.
It detects FSH concentrations equal to or greater than 25 mIU/mL.
A positive result may suggest that a woman is entering menopause.
Ideally, the test is done twice, spaced 5–7 days apart, to improve reliability.
Positive: Two lines (test + control) = FSH ≥ 25 mIU/mL → possible menopausal transition
Negative: Only control line = FSH below threshold → likely not menopausal
Invalid: No control line → test error
2 test devices (to be used on separate days)
Instructions for use
Not a diagnostic tool: This is a screening aid, not a substitute for a medical diagnosis.
FSH can fluctuate, especially during perimenopause, so clinical correlation is essential.
Certain medications (e.g., hormone therapy or fertility meds) can affect accuracy.
Does not detect estrogen levels or confirm postmenopausal status with certainty.
Women on birth control or with hormonal imbalances (e.g. PCOS) should consult a healthcare provider before relying on results.
This test is helpful for women experiencing menopausal symptoms who want an early indication of hormonal changes. However, because hormone levels fluctuate, a positive result should be followed up with your GP or pharmacist. For the most reliable results, test twice, 5–7 days apart, using the first urine of the day.
